前回まで、アメリカの都市をいくつか取り上げましたが、今回はアメリカを離れてみようと思います。
ま、とはいえ、次にどこに行くのかは想像つくと思いますが・・・
さて、これはどこのことでしょう。

最初の数単語でわかっちゃいますね。
もちろんロンドンのことです。
ロンドンといえばもちろん大都会なのですけれど、、やっぱり湿っぽいイメージがあります。
昔、Blue Blud というバンドがあって、それはもうイギリスの哀愁漂う素晴らしいメロディ満載のデビューアルバムを作ったのですけれど、2枚目以降はまったくダメだったという・・。
さて、次はちょっと手応えがあるかもしれませんが、答え自体は説明文の中に出てきています。英語の量に圧倒されてしまいそうな方は、英文の後に1文ずつバラしておきますので、そちらを読んだ方が気が楽かも知れません。

19世紀にはロンドンに次ぐ大都市だったのですが、第2次世界大戦で何度も攻撃されて、盛んだった綿貿易や繊維産業も一気に衰退してしまいました。
それが復活したのは、もちろんビートルズが出てきたからでしょうね。
サッカーでは、リヴァプールFCとエヴァートンFCという2チームが本拠地にしています。
ということで、リヴァプールの説明文が意外にも長かったので、今回はこれくらいにしておきましょう。
あとイギリスで有名な都市というとマンチェスターとかオックスフォードとかでしょうかね。
